A privately-owned global Telecommunications conglomerate seeks an experienced and analytical Procurement Specialist to join their dynamic team based in Johannesburg North.

Duties & Responsibilities

Job & Company Description:
The successful incumbent will form an integral part of the procurement team in a fast-growing company. This role is key to leading the company forward in securing quality suppliers and will have a clear focus to support the allocated business segment to achieve optimum desired results.

Duties include but will not be limited to:
  • Coordination of procurement activities
  • Coordination of costs, delivery and quality of suppliers
  • Negotiate commercial terms and conditions and finalise contracts / agreements with suppliers
  • Recognise and mitigate contractual risks and negotiate such effectively
  • Working knowledge of commercial laws and procurement procedures

Education:
Degree in Supply Chain or Business Management
CIPS Professional Membership highly advantageous

Job Experience & Skills Required:
5 to 7 years’ experience in a full function procurement and purchasing role
3 years' experience in a senior level role
Experience within the IT and telecommunications industry experience essential
Experience in wholesale and enterprise trading essential
Knowledge of operational and strategic sourcing
Advanced MS Excel skills
Meticulous attention to detail
Deadline driven
